Why Yoga In The House?
After years of practicing yoga in quiet, "on-the-mat" type settings, it dawned on me that to take my practice to the next level, I needed to take it off of my mat and bring it into my home, my relationships, my food habits...basically into my whole life!

Yoga In The House was the result.  It is both my personal mantra and professional philosophy, to integrate and yoke all aspects of my being, mind, body, heart and soul, into the full-spectrum of my life.

Of course when many of us think of yoga we tend to picture it only as a physical practice.  However, yoga is a practice that endeavours to honor the entirety of our being (and help us uncover the mysteries of the self waiting to be explored).  The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj, which means union or to yoke.  Yoga helps us to connect and create union between our minds, bodies, emotions and spirits.  It also helps us contemplate our whole being  connection with "others" (food, our environment, loved-ones, unloved-ones, etc).  It is a living philosophy, an art form, a science, a practice and a therapeutic modality.
Although yoga is a well trodden path to wellbeing, it is not the only one.  I've come to greatly appreciate how we can weave together the sciences of all healing techniques to create a strong, resilient and beautiful framework and bridge for better health.  To broaden my scope and perspectives, I've continued my studies in the areas of Positive Psychology, Acutonics®, Food and Spirit®, Reiki, Sound Healing and Shamanism.  Each one of these modalities have helped me deepen my own practice and furthered my understanding of what it means to be alive, to heal and to help others.

My Vision
My professional intention is to complement the allied health care system by providing a whole being and especially a somatic approach to healing and wellbeing.  Health is our birthright; my vision is to serve as a supportive guide and spiritual mentor for others on their road to realizing their inherent capacity for peace, joy and vitality.  I believe the full-spectrum nature of my work sustainably empowers clients to create the circumstances to both heal and flourish in their lives.
"Connection holds the key.  Wisdom opens the door.  Compassion lights the way." -Jenelle
