Good Spring Morning
Well, it's been just under a year since my last post and just over a year since I last taught a yoga class; however the yoga never stopped. In the past year I've moved country twice (to Brunswick Heads, Australia and then back, again, to our home in Regina) and also (and more importantly) carried, birthed and been savouring our precious, wee baby Isla.
Thanks to all the yoga teachers I've had over the past 8 years, and to all the fabulous people who've shared life with me over this past year, I feel all the change and transition I've had has been a relatively smooth and wonderfully joyous experience. There have inevitably been some rough moments/hours/days/weeks...I'm sure you can all imagine/relate, but remembering to breath, accept, surrender, observe and receive help and support have kept me to grounded, calm and present.
I am posting today, as today I'll be teaching my first yoga class in just over a year. I am looking forward to the opportunity to share some of what I know about yoga. I am subbing a class at the Downtown YMCA, thanks to Scott asking me to sub it for him. I am excited to get back into the swing of not only practicing Hatha Yoga, but sharing it with others. Slowly, but surely, I hope to be teaching a bit more around the city. Yoga In The House will be evolving over time, though likely not returning to it's previous shape before I left for some time. With a baby in the family, teaching classes from home seems like a difficult feat. I can see me coaxing students towards blissful relaxation when the baby monitor suddenly goes off...a waking baby chiming in for a few OMs....not ideal!
Thanks for reading. Have a happy day.
